What is FTMO?

FTMO is the ultimate opportunity to turn my trading dreams into a reality. As a trader, I've always been passionate about the financial markets and eager to make a significant impact.

With FTMO, I've found a platform that not only provides me with the necessary tools and resources but also offers a unique chance to showcase my skills and potential.

One of the key aspects of FTMO is its market review feature. This allows me to stay up-to-date with the latest market trends, news, and analysis. Having access to this valuable information gives me an edge in making informed trading decisions. Whether it's analyzing chart patterns or studying economic indicators, FTMO equips me with all the essential tools needed for successful trading.

Pros and Cons of FTMO

While there are several advantages to trading with FTMO, it's important for you to consider the potential drawbacks as well. Here are the pros of FTMO:

  • Funding and support: They provide traders with capital to trade in the markets, allowing them to potentially generate substantial profits without risking their own money. Additionally, FTMO offers ongoing support and guidance to traders, helping them improve their skills and make informed trading decisions.
  • Risk management: FTMO places a strong emphasis on risk management. They have strict rules in place to protect both the trader and the company's capital. This ensures that traders follow proper risk-reward ratios and avoid excessive losses. By adhering to these risk management principles, traders can develop disciplined trading habits that can lead to long-term success.

However, FTMO also has a few disadvantages. Here are 2 cons of FTMO:

  • Profit sharing: While FTMO provides funding for traders, they also take a portion of the profits generated by the trader as a fee. This profit-sharing arrangement may not be suitable for everyone, especially those who prefer to keep all of their earnings for themselves.
  • Evaluation process: In order to qualify for funding from FTMO, traders must go through an evaluation process where they have to meet specific performance targets within a set time frame. This evaluation process can be challenging and stressful for some traders, as failure to meet the targets may result in disqualification from receiving funding.

How does it work?

To understand the mechanics of the process, let's delve into how this funding program operates.

FTMO works by providing traders with the opportunity to prove their skills and gain access to a funded trading account. The first step is to pass their evaluation process, which consists of trading a demo account and meeting certain profit targets within a specified time frame. This evaluation period helps FTMO assess a trader's abilities and risk management skills.

Once you successfully pass the evaluation, you are eligible for a funded account. The size of the account depends on your chosen trading capital option, ranging from $10,000 to $300,000.

As an FTMO trader, you get to keep 70% of any profits made while adhering to specific risk parameters set by FTMO. They also provide traders with daily loss limits that ensure responsible risk management.

FTMO Account Types

In this discussion, I'll be introducing three different types of FTMO accounts. Each of these accounts has its own unique features and benefits that cater to different trading styles and risk levels.

FTMO normal account

The FTMO normal account offers traders a chance to achieve their financial dreams. With this type of account, you can access all the necessary tools and resources to trade successfully in the financial markets.

The normal account provides you with competitive spreads, fast execution, and a user-friendly trading platform.

One of the key advantages of the FTMO normal account is its flexible leverage options. You have the freedom to choose your desired leverage level, allowing you to tailor your trading strategy according to your risk tolerance and market conditions. This flexibility gives you the opportunity to maximize your potential profits while managing your risk effectively.

In addition, the FTMO normal account also provides access to a wide range of tradable instruments including forex, commodities, indices, and cryptocurrencies. This allows you to diversify your portfolio and take advantage of various market opportunities.

FTMO normal SWING account

The FTMO normal SWING account provides you with the perfect platform to do just that.

With this account, you have the flexibility to analyze charts and patterns over extended periods, allowing you to make informed trading decisions based on technical analysis.

  • No more time pressure: With the FTMO normal SWING account, you don't have to worry about rushing into quick trades or constantly monitoring the markets. You can patiently wait for the right setups and hold onto your positions as long as necessary.
  • Maximizing profit potential: Holding positions for longer periods gives you the opportunity to capture larger price movements and maximize your profit potential. Instead of aiming for small gains on short-term trades, you can focus on significant market fluctuations that align with your swing trading strategy.
  • Reduced stress levels: Swing trading requires patience and discipline, which is why the FTMO normal SWING account is ideal. It allows you to trade at a pace that suits your style without feeling overwhelmed by constant market noise.

FTMO aggressive account

This account is designed for traders who thrive on fast-paced, high-risk trading strategies. With increased leverage and larger position sizes, you'll have the opportunity to maximize your profits and make bolder moves in the market.

But remember, with great power comes great responsibility. The aggressive account requires a higher level of skill and experience to manage the increased risk effectively.

One of the key features of the FTMO aggressive account is its higher buying power. With more capital at your disposal, you can take advantage of bigger opportunities in the market and potentially earn larger profits.

However, it's important to note that this also means greater potential losses if trades don't go in your favor. Risk management becomes even more crucial when using an aggressive approach, as one wrong move can wipe out a significant portion of your capital.

If you're an experienced trader looking for an adrenaline-fueled challenge, the FTMO aggressive account offers just that. It provides the tools and resources needed to execute high-risk swing trading strategies successfully.

How to become a trader for FTMO?

To become a trader for FTMO, you need to pass the following challenges:

Stage 1: FTMO Challenge

  • In the first stage, you will be able to select your account size from $10,000 to $200,000.
  • The participation fee for the challenge will increase based on the chosen account size and risk level (ranging from €155 to €1080). The fee for a high-risk account will be higher compared to a normal account.
  • For high-risk accounts (Aggressive), the maximum loss limit and daily loss limit will be doubled, and the profit target will also be doubled.
  • The challenge has a completion deadline of 30 days, including weekends.
  • The minimum trading days required are 10 days.
  • The maximum daily loss is 5%, and the maximum loss limit is 10%. The profit target is 10%. These numbers are doubled for high-risk accounts.

Stage 2: FTMO Verification

After completing Stage 1, you will be sent a new account to participate in Stage 2 (the account allocation process may take 1-2 days). The goals to complete Stage 2 will be similar to Stage 1, but the profit target will be adjusted to 5% for normal-risk accounts.

Becoming an FTMO Funded Trader

At this point, you have officially become an FTMO Funded Trader. FTMO will remove profit targets, and you will only need to focus on the maximum loss limit. Profit splits can reach up to 90%. When you make your first profit withdrawal, you will be refunded the initial registration fee.

Conclusion

In conclusion, FTMO is a great option for traders looking to prove their skills and gain access to funded accounts. It offers various account types to cater to different needs and experience levels, making it accessible to both beginners and experienced traders.
